Usually, this composition divides the photo plane into 3 equal parts vertically and horizontally, so that we have 9 equal planes and 4 points meeting.
These four points are usually referred to as the four eye points and you can place the most interesting part of a photo at one of these four points. You don't need to fill in all the points at the same time, just one of them is enough.
