Mengenal Focus Stacking

Get to know Focus Stacking

Has anyone heard of focus stacking? Focus stacking is a technique of combining several images with different focuses into one photo that has even sharpness in all parts. Usually many photographers use this technique if conditions do not allow for one shot. You can try it by taking 3 of the same picture with different focus points, focusing on the foreground, middle ground and background.

Why do we need to use focus stacking?

This technique is usually used when there's a lot of depth of field, with parts that are close to you and some that are far away. This makes it impossible to get sharp photos from any angle, even when using f/16.

This technique takes more time and memory. Also, you can't use this technique for everything. It's not ideal for objects that move quickly, like waves. This technique isn't really suitable for capturing waves in motion, as they move fast and have different positions. This technique is only suitable for use on objects that are calm and that you can control. Using a tripod is really helpful when taking pictures because it ensures that the picture you take is in the exact same position and doesn't shift. You can use any type of camera and lens.
