Light is an important element in photography because photography is a light painting technique. The light sources used can vary, and their quality also varies. To use light optimally, techniques are also needed so that the results are maximum. When looking at the quality of light, the most important thing is highlights and shadows because they affect the direction of the light. There are several directions of light:
1. Front Light - The light is in front of the object so that the front of the object gets full light
2. Oval Light - The light is on 3/4 of the object so that a slight shadow forms on the object.
3. Side Light - The light is on the side of the object so that the shadow and light part will be divided into two opposite sides.
4. RimLight - The light is at the back at an angle of 1/4 of the object so that the front of the object is dark and there is light at the edge of the object.
5. Back Light - The light is behind the object so that the front of the object is dark and there is a clear line of light on the back of the object.
