Tips for Shooting Flowers

Flowers are one of the most popular objects in photography. Apart from the beautiful shape, you can also experiment with different light and composition and the flowers stay in the same place and shape. To photograph flowers in the garden, you can use a macro lens so you can get interesting details and textures from the flowers. Some things you need to consider:

1. Light

Light that is too harsh can cast strong, dark shadows. You can get around this by covering it with a thin cloth or waiting for the clouds to cover the sun so that the light is soft enough.

2. Background

Pay attention to the background so that there are no elements that disturb and divert the focus from the flower. You can change positions if you feel it is still not enough.

3. Dewdrops & rainwater

You can try photographing flowers in the morning, after sunrise or after rain. You will get dew drops or rainwater which can add interest to your photo.
